SIDNEY — Elva "Christine" Osborne, age 89, of Sidney, passed away Jan. 15, 2014, at the Falkville Health Care Center in Falkville, Ala.

Christine was born March 29, 1924, to the late Garrett and Bessie York in Morley, Tenn. She had worked at the Copeland Corp. from October 1968 until her retirement on June 9, 1989.

Christine was married to John Osborne in Dec., 1943, in Middlesboro, Ky. They were divorced in 1956 and she then moved to Sidney.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Roger Osborne; one daughter, Judy Sollmann; two sisters, Geraldine Wilson and Berniece Turner.

Christine is survived by her sons, David (Mary) Osborne, of Fort Loramie, James (Donna) Osborne, of Hartselle, of Alabama; brothers, Hoyle York, of Franklin, Tommy York, Gary York, and Donnie York, all of LaFollette, Tenn.; sisters, Bobbie Allison, of Florida, Billie Wright, Joyce Berry, and Carolyn White, all of LaFollette, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Willis 'Bill' Sollmann, of Sidney; John Osborne, of Sidney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Christine was a homemaker and loved to spend her spare time playing cards, board games and spending time with family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, with Pastor Shane Jackson officiating.

Burial will follow at Pearl Cemetery, Swanders.

Visiting hours for family and friends will be on Monday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. prior to services at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to any Hospice Affiliation of the donor's choice. Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
