SIDNEY — Evelyn M. Presser, 85, of Sidney, passed away Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, at Shands Starke Reginal Medical Center in Starkes, Florida.

She was born on Feb. 25, 1930, in Newburgh, New York, the daughter of the late Steve and Hortense (Kramp) Smisek. On Dec. 24, 1947, she married Harry A. Presser, who preceded her in death June 17, 2000.

Evelyn is survived by two children, Mrs. Richard (Christine) Watercutter and Robert Joseph Presser, both of Sidney; seven grandchildren, James Lee Presser Jr., Jennifer Leibold, Colleen Presser, Angela (Fred) Roempler, Angel (Michael) Ketch, Troy (Elizabeth) Gerlich and Ryan (Jessica Greve) Watercutter; nine great-grandchildren, Brandon, Matthew and Aaron Leibold, Nicholas and Nathan Roempler, Michael and Victoria Ketch, Hannah Gerlich, and Sebastian Watercutter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, James Lee Presser Sr., one brother, Steve Smisek, one sister, Mildred Denick, and one grandson, Jack Edward Leibold.

Mrs. Presser retired from Clancy's Restaurant after 16 years. She also worked for Dayton Daily News and was a manager at the Pasco Grocery. She was a member of Sidney First United Methodist Church and Sidney American Legion Auxiliary Post 217.

Evelyn loved fishing, boating, playing cards and bingo, and spending time with her family.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney, with the Rev. Jane Madden officiating.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
