Floyd Dilsaver (1916 - 2015)

BOTKINS — Floyd M. Dilsaver, 99, of Botkins, died 12:05 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, at his children's home in Sidney.

He was born Aug. 5, 1916, in Marion Township, Allen County, Ohio, the son of Charles R. and Della R. (Simpson) Dilsaver, who preceded him in death. On May 14, 1941, he married Rosemary Werling, she died Oct. 29, 1993.

Survivors include three children, William Dilsaver, Sidney, David C. (Jan) Dilsaver, Jackson Center, and Nancy Dilsaver, Sidney; two grandchildren, James (Brandy) Dilsaver and Jodi (Mike) VanHook; eight great-grandchildren, Samantha, Charles and McKenzie Dilsaver, Juliette and Ethan VanHook, Mikael, Brayden and Jayden Shoup; and one great-great-granddaughter, Olivia Melling.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Ira (Lodean) Dilsaver.

A farmer, Floyd, retired from Beatrice Foods, New Bremen, Ohio. He was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Rhine, where he was recently honored as the oldest living member of the Petersburg Parishes. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. He enjoyed farming and being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Rhine, Ohio, with the Rev. Patrick Sloneker officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Wapakoneta.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, state Route 501, Wapakoneta.
