HOUSTON — Gary Maurice Clawson, 67, of Houston, passed away at 9 a.m., Thursday, April 27, 2017, at his residence.

He was born, June 22, 1949, in Lima, the son of the late Richard Clawson Sr. and Ruth "Boots" (Middy) Clawson, who resides in Gahanna.

Gary is survived by two daughters, Sarah Clawson, of Troy, and Carrie (Wes) Turner, of Tipp City; four grandchildren, Ethan, Mason and Keaton Turner, and Quinton Mitchell; one brother, Richard Clawson, of Georgetown; one sister, Beverly Ressler, of Gahanna; and his beloved dog companion, Cole.

Gary was a longtime employee of LeRoi before working at Honda, from where he retired. He was an avid hunter and fisherman his entire life and worked as a hunting guide following retirement. He was also member of the Newport Sportsman Club. Gary was of the Baptist faith and was a dedicated father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed teaching, hunting and fishing with his grandson, Mason.

A memorial service will be Monday, May 1, 2017, at 6 p.m., at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., with Pastor Chad Inman officiating.
