SIDNEY — Gaylord M. Neer, 86, of Sidney, passed away, Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at 1:45 p.m., in the Pavilion Rehab and Skilled Care Center.

He was born, June 5, 1930, in Sidney, the son of the late Andrew and Anna (Poole) Neer.

On May 14, 1949, he married Betty J. Lenhart, who survives along with one son, James L. (Lisa) Neer, of Jackson Center; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jacque (Marilyn) Neer, of Plano, Texas, and David (Jan) Neer, of Pottsboro, Texas. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Herb, Richard, Andy Jr. and Robert Neer; four sisters, Rose Webb, Donna Pyhitila, Ruth Ann Spiker and Christine Greer.

Gaylord retired as a machinist from Hobart Manufacturing in Troy, and was also a machinist for the former Monarch Machine and Tool and the former LeRoi Division of Dresser Industries. He was a member of the Senior Swingers golf club.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., in Pearl Cemetery in Swanders with Pastor Bill Halter officiating. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave.
