TROY — Gertrude A. Lochner, 91, of 2569 State Route 41 West, Troy, Ohio, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014, at 4:50 a.m. at Hospice Of Dayton Care Center.

She was born on Dec. 3, 1922, in Greenville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Marion and Lucy (Trick) Apple. On Nov. 27, 1965, she married Arnold Lochner, who preceded her in death on April 28, 1998.

She is survived by one son, Frederick Lochner, of Boulder, Colorado; one nephew, Larry Verdier, of Cincinnati, Ohio; two nieces, Ann Davis, of Dayton, Ohio, and Cheryl Hawsey, of Anderson, Indiana; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Two sisters, Dorothy Verdier and Luella Brock and one brother, Eldon Apple preceded her in death.

Mrs. Lochner was a secretary for Harrison Radiator, a division of General Motors in Dayton and retired in 1994 after 50 years of service. She was a member of Salem Avenue Church of God in Dayton.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney, with the Rev. Scott Stremmel officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Piqua, Ohio.

Friends may call on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, OH 45420 in memory of Gertrude A. Lochner. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
