Irvin Dues

MINSTER — Irvin J. Dues, age 87, of Minster, Ohio, died at 6:20 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at his home.

He was born on Oct. 9, 1926, in Minster, Ohio, to the late John and Katherine (Brandewie) Dues. He married Juanita Goettemoeller on April 21, 1951, in Fort Loramie, Ohio. She survives in Minster.

He is also survived by children, Dale and Margaret Dues, Minster, Vickie and Jim Barrett, Fort Loramie, and Jerry and Becky Dues, Fort Loramie; grandchildren Amy Dues-Korte, Jodi Dues, Sarah and Dan Shuffleton, Katie and David Bergman, and Jenni Dues and fiancé Matt Bruno; great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Taylor and Carter Korte; sister, Lorina Geiger, Lawrenceville, Georgia; and brother, Paul Dues, Minster.

He was preceded in death by infant son, Robert, sisters, Alvira Gudorf, Georgina Farren and Geneva Kerber, and brother Gilbert Dues.

He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, and a life member of Minster VFW, American Legion and F.O.E. 1391. He was also a member of the Orphan Society of the church and of the Lake Loramie Improvement Association.

He retired from New Idea, Coldwater after 44 years and then drove truck for Duco Tool & Die. He was a member of the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, with the Rev. Rick Neiberding celebrant. Burial with full military honors by the Minster Firing Squad will take place in St. Augustine Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Grand Lake Home Health and Hospice and Minster Area Life Squad.
