SIDNEY —Ivan H. Fogt, 84, of Sidney, passed away at 1:20 a.m., Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, in Lane Park of Sidney.

He was born, May 10, 1932, in Sidney, the son of the late Herbert and Bertha (Gerber) Fogt.

In August 1989, he married Linda Messner, who survives him along with four children, Chuck (Crystal) Fogt, of Sidney, Rick (Donna) Fogt, of Arizona, Randy (Pat) Fogt, Brian (Nancy) Fogt, both of Sidney; three stepdaughters, Ronda Fourman, of Dayton, Jody Mikel, of Sidney, and Heather Millhouse, of Virginia; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Janice Rediess, Maxine Byler, both of Sidney, and Arlene (Sterkel) Coyne, of Piqua. He was preceded in death by three sisters.

Mr. Fogt was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Ivan enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, visiting his friends at the Alcove and spending time with his family.

Funeral services will be, Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at noon, in the Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., with the Rev. Jonathan W. Schriber officiating. Burial will be at Pearl Cemetery.
