SIDNEY — James E. "J.D." Davis, 69, of 1305 Rutledge St, Sidney, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at 2:55 p.m. at Wilson Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Jan. 2, 1945, in Smithtown, Kentucky, the son of the late Lewis and Artie (Watson) Davis.

On June 29, 1985, he married Arlene "Pinky" (DeMarcus) Davis, who survives along with three children, Darin Davis (Renee) and Dennis Davis (Linda), both of Sidney, Ohio, and Denise March of Tipp City, Ohio; three stepchildren, Robin Goff and Angie Foster, both of Sidney, Ohio, and Shane Goff, of Miamisburg, Ohio; five sisters, Lora Hill, Hettie Bowman and Sula Lynch, all of Whitley City, Kentucky, Wanda Jones and Maudie Morgan, both of Sidney, Ohio; two brothers, Nelson Davis, of Sidney, Ohio, and Wendell Davis, of Piqua, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and one great-grandson.

Mr. Davis was a former senior assistant manager for NK Parts in Sidney, where he worked for 17 years. He was a member of Beulah Land Full Gospel Church in Sidney.

J.D. enjoyed classic cars, car shows, and taking pictures. He loved his church family and working for the Lord, playing bass guitar and singing for the church. He also loved his yorkie, Lexie. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 19, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney, Ohio, with the Rev. Milton Gover officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
