MINSTER — James J. Kronenberger, age 83, of 132 N. Garfield St. Minster, Ohio, died at 3:05 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital St. Marys.

He was born on Feb. 27, 1931, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Alphons and Loretta (Schwartz) Kronenberger. He married Judith Kuntz on May 30, 1959, in Dayton. She survives in Minster. '

He is survived by children, Lori and Mike Tangeman, Minster, Jim Jr. and Janet Kronenberger, New Bremen, Beth and Russ Eber, Wapakoneta, Jill Hensley, Lebanon, Andy and Heather Kronenberger, Fletcher, Gary and Laura Kronenberger, Cincinnati, Wendy and Jeff Barthel, San Antonio, Texas, Heidi and Greg Beister, Virginia Beach, Bill and Danielle Kronenberger, Waco, Texas, and Amy Kronenberger, Elida; 27 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; sister Mary Ann and Bill Imfeld, Centerville, in-law Jack Ryan, Trotwood and numerous other in-laws.

He was preceded in death by daughter Erin Kronenberger, sister Donna Ryan.

He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. He was also a member of the St. Augustine Men's Choir, Minster, Knights of Columbus and Minster American Legion. He as a veteran of the Air Force during the Korean War, a lifelong Cincinnati Reds Fan, an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed his grandchildren's activities. He retired from Minster Machine.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 Saturday, July 19, 2014, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, with the Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Burial will take place with full military honors by Minster Firing Squad in St. Augustine Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014, and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014.
