COLUMBUS — James Linker, 76, of Columbus, Ohio, died peacefully at home March 21, 2015.

Jim was born in Jackson Center, Ohio, and raised in Sidney, Ohio. A 1960 graduate of Capital University, he taught school before entering pilot training in the USAF.

He married Janet Rupp, his college sweetheart in 1961.

After the Air Force, they returned to Columbus where Jim served as alumni director at Capital University, and later assistant drector of development at Ohio Dominican College. Jim was introduced to stamp collecting by Sidney neighbor George Linn, and had a life-long hobby of collecting stamps. He opened The Link Stamp Co. in 1965 and in January 2015 was proud to begin his 50th year in the business, the last 40 being full-time.

Jim and Jan had three children, Jenni, Jeff and Tim. Sadly, Jenni died in 1985.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Margaret Linker, daughter Jenni, Aunt Mildred Linker.

He is survived by wife of 53 years, Jan, sons, Jeff (Julie), and Tim (Heather), sister, Beth (Ron) Kenreich, and six grandchildren.
