SIDNEY — Jean L. Murphy, 88, of Sidney, formerly of Piqua, died at 9:34 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at the Lane Park Assisted Living Center.

She was born Feb. 10, 1926, in Piqua to the late Ralph and Ethel (Grissom) Yenney.

Survivors include two daughters, Carole (Jose) Capote, of Sidney, and Cordelia (Roger) White, of Atlanta, Georgia; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, whom she loved deeply; a niece and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy E. Murphy, in 1977, a sister and a brother.

Mrs. Murphy was a graduate of Piqua Central High School, worked at Orr Felt Co. and then at Hartzell Propeller, from which she retired. She loved being with family and playing games, summer vacations at Elk Lake in Michigan, quilting and playing cards. She will be deeply missed by her loving family.

A service to honor her life will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015, at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jack Chalk officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park, Covington.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
