PORT JEFFERSON — Jesse N. Wallace, age 82, of Port Jefferson, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at 6:15 a.m. at Wilson Memorial Hospital.

Jesse was born Oct. 27, 1931, in Clearfield, Ky.,, the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Phillips) Wallace. On Nov. 18, 1953, he married Carol Wildermuth. They have been married for 60 years and she survives.

Jesse is also survived by three children, Tom Wallace and wife, Margaret, of Peru, Ind., Tim Wallace and wife, Leslie, of Sidney, Terri Chiles and husband, John, of Sidney; six grandchildren, Jessica Wallace, Joclyn Wallace, Tatum Wallace, Tabitha Wallace, Trevor Toves, Tristine Toves; six great-grandchildren, Renee Wallace, James Cotterman, Tyler Toves, Jalyn Gillum, Rayna Compton, Jase Gillum; brothers and sisters, Edward (Linda) Wallace, of Fla., Lenville (Diane) Wallace, of Fla., Stanley Wallace, and Edith Vayda, both of Wellington, and Shirley Miller, of Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, James Wallace, Paul Wallace, Charles Wallace, Freemon Wallace, David Wallace, Gracie Jenkins and Dortha Stafford.

Jesse belonged to the First Church of God on Campbell Road. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. Jesse had worked at the Aldrich Lumber Company in Wellington, Ohio, Boeing Aircraft, Seattle, Wash., Monarch Machine, Sidney, and eventually retiring from the Copeland Corp.

In his spare time, Jesse thoroughly enjoyed researching genealogy. He loved to play golf, go bowling, and he also enjoyed traveling. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, with the Rev. Harold McKnight officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at the Adams Funeral Home, Sidney.

Memorial donations may be made to the National Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., FL 17, Chicago, IL 60601, Jesse's name. Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home. All arrangements entrusted to the staff of Adams Funeral Home.
