VERSAILLES — John Edward Waymire Jr., 71, of Versailles, passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at Kindred Hospital, Lima.
John was born in Bradford on May 31, 1942, to the (late) John Edward and Lottie Minnie (Warner) Waymire; attended Bradford High School; retired from Goodyear Tire, Topeka, Kan.; and was a member of the United Steelworkers of America, District 11 — Local 00307L.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Ashley Ann Robb; two sisters, Betty Jean Selby, Marcia Brown; and two brothers, Ronald and wife, Joy Waymire, and Daniel Waymire. John is survived by his son, Shawn Edward Waymire and Damaris M. Divito, of San Jose, Calif.; two daughters, Shellene Rena and husband, Wesley Heath, of Sidney, Tina Marie Robb, of Bellefontaine; seven grandchildren, Alisha Robb, Douglas and Kara Robb, Jonathan Trace and Kassy Robb, Tarah Heath, Preston Heath, Jordan Waymire, and Chloe Waymire; great-granddaughter, Kylah Robb; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Carolyn Waymire, of Versailles; three sisters and brothers-in-law, A. Faye and Chris Liebl, of Troy, Charlotte and Loren Ellis of Yorkshire, Wanda and Bob Chalmers of Greenville; sister-in-law, Barb Waymire, of Union; two brothers-in-law, Herb Brown, of Bradford and Don Selby, of Clearwater, Fla.; numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral service 3 p.m., Saturday at the Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Bradford, with the Rev. Foster Junior "Bud" Alexander officiating. Interment Harris Creek Cemetery, Bradford.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. Saturday until time of service.
