SIDNEY — Jon R. Wills, 67, of 3885 Millcreek Road, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the University of Cincinnati Hospital.

He was born on June 4, 1946 in Longview, Washington, the son of the late John and Pearl (Forslin) Wills.

On Dec. 20, 1969, he married Linda S. Thomas, who survives along with five children, Richard J. Wills and his wife, Janeth, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. William (Holly) Jarboe, of Peoria, Ariz., Heidi Wills, of Glendale, Ariz., Mrs. Trevor (Carrie) Hughes, of Sidney, and Thomas Wills and his wife, Natalie, of Glendale, Ariz.; and 12 grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Wills was a field service engineer from 1985 for the former Monarch Machine Tool Co. until they closed, and then went on to work for the Makino Co. in Mason until his retirement in 2006.

Jon was retired military, serving first in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era from 1964 until 1968, and then joined the U.S. Army serving from 1969 until his retirement in 1985.

Mr. Wills was a member of the Sidney-Shelby County YMCA and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In following Jon's wishes, the family would like to see his family and friends enjoy a movie with him in thought as Jon's favorite pastime was going to the movies.

Jon's family will receive friends on Saturday, March 15, 2014, from noon until 3 P.M. at the Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave. A graveside service will follow at a later date at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hermon, Maine.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in memory of Jon Wills. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
