Joseph Goubeaux

RUSSIA — Joseph C. Goubeaux, age 77, of Russia, Ohio, passed away at 11:54 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, at his residence.

Joseph was born Sept. 18, 1938, in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Martin and Bernadette (Francis) Goubeaux.

Joseph is survived by his children, Jerry and Judy Goubeaux, of Russia, James and Trudy Goubeaux, of Russia, Joyce and George Freisthler, of Anna, John and Heather Goubeaux, of McCartyville, Jeff and Kim Goubeaux, of Russia, and Jo Ann and Jeff Benecke, of Ridgeville Corners; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Sister Rosemary Goubeaux, of Dayton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was also preceded in death by his wife, Juanita M. (Matthieu) Goubeaux on Aug. 6, 2002, whom he married Sept. 27, 1958; brother, Paul Goubeaux; and sisters, Zita Fullenkamp and Adeline Riethman.

Joseph was a farmer and formerly worked at Francis Schulze Manufacturing in Russia. He was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia with the Rev. Martin Fox celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Remy Cemetery in Russia.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles.
