ST. HENRY — Josephine A. Bornhorst, 80, of St. Henry, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, at Brookdale, Greenville.

She was born July 20, 1935, in Frenchtown, to the late Cletus and Clara (Hartings) Voskuhl. On Nov. 12, 1958, she married Charles J. Bornhorst in St. Rose. He preceded her in death on Aug. 12, 2010. She is survived by five children, Christina and Alan Pottkotter, of Fort Recovery, John and Patricia Bornhorst, of Concord, North Carolina, Ken and Stella Bornhorst, of South America, Teresa and Michael Wasson, of Bradford, and Roger Bornhorst, of St. Henry; a daughter-in-law, Shelly and Todd Busse, of New Bremen; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Evers, of Fort Recovery, Maggie Post, of Coldwater, and Moe and Joan Voskuhl, of Coldwater; and in-laws, Sharon Voskuhl, of Coldwater, Dianne Voskuhl, of Minster, Mary Voskhul, of Indiana, Eileen and Lester Poeppelman, of Minster, and Jerry and Charlene Bornhorst, of Texas. She is preceded in death by a son, Robert Bornhorst; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; siblings, Charlie Voskuhl, Ralph Voskuhl, Luke Voskuhl, Virgil Voskuhl and Ivo Voskuhl; and in-laws, Melvin Evers, Leo Post, Maurice and Viola Bornhorst, Ann and Vern Gross and Rosemary Bornhorst.

She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and its ladies' Altar Rosary Sodality. Jo was also a former owner of the Wendelin Tavern, worked as a cook for St. Henry Schools for many years and also has worked at Gel's IGA. Jo was an excellent cook, enjoyed working in the garden and will be remembered as an avid bowler and former member of the Chickasaw Chicks Softball team.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, at St. Henry Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 until 6 p.m., Sunday, and 9 until 10 a.m., Monday, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry. Memorials may be made to the Miami Valley . Condolences may be left at
