SIDNEY — Judy Mae (Pelfrey) Holthaus, age 75, of Bon Air Circle, Sidney, passed away of natural causes Thursday evening, July 27, 2017, at Zusman House Hospice in Columbus, Ohio.

She was born Oct. 20, 1941, in Frozen Creek, Kentucky, to the late Bernice and Beatrice (Keith) Pelfrey. On Sept. 10, 2005, at the Holthaus home place, Judy married Gerald J. Holthaus, who preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 2012.

Surviving are two children, Sabrina and Dennis McMahon, of Sidney, and Chad Cable and Barbara Mehne, of Columbus; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; five sisters, Shelby, R. Carol, Charlotte, Karen and Lona; seven brothers: Loyd (deceased), Harold, Bernice "BJ," Roger, J. Kenneth, Lynn and M. Odell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron and Velma Holthaus, of Yorkshire, Ken and Bonita Holthaus, of Minster, Martha "Marty" and Joe Speer, of Covington, Marvin and Rick Holthaus, both of Minster.

Mrs. Holthaus retired in 2006 from Klinger/Thermoseal Inc. in Sidney where many years ago, had been the first female hired to work on the shop floor. Judy had been baptized at the Nazarene Church in Sidney and attended St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie with her late husband. She was a member of Shelby County Senior Citizens and a past member of the Minster Eagles Auxiliary. Judy enjoyed cooking, reading and traveling. She also loved visiting with her family and friends.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie with the Rev. Steven Shoup presiding. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.

Friends may call Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie.
