PIQUA — Katherine "Kate" L. Hubley, age 82, of Piqua died at 3:40 P.M. on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at Piqua Manor Nursing Home.

She was born in Fletcher, Ohio, on April 12, 1932, to the late Kenneth and Nellie (Wright) Kiser. On Dec. 31, 1977, at Greene Street United Methodist Church, Piqua, she married Fred "Fritz" Hubley, Jr. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1997.

Kate is survived by one daughter, Melody Blankenship, Bainbridge, Ohio; one son, Kenneth Trostel, Piqua, Ohio; one stepson, Timothy A. Hubley, of Florida; one stepdaughter, Theresa Wilcox, of Florida; four sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Roberta and Paul Webb, Piqua, Ohio, Sue Colebaugh, Casstown, Ohio, Norma and Jim Woodard, Naperville, Illinois, and Mary Spoores, Bowling Green, Ohio; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Peter and Donna Hubley, Sidney, Ohio, and Tony and Mary Hubley, Bradenton, Florida; three grandchildren, Ginger Free, Bainbridge, Ohio, Justin Trostel and David Trostel, Sidney, Ohio; and three great grandchildren, Hayley Cooper, Kara Free and John David Free, Bainbridge, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by one son, Robert "Bobby" Trostel; one stepson, Christopher Hubley; one infant brother; and one sister-in-law, Esther Kobleck.

Kate graduated from Conover High School in 1950. She was a member of the former Piqua Loyal Order of the Moose 1067 and held all chairs and was in the College of Regents, former Piqua Fraternal Order of the Eagles 614 and Piqua Leisure Club, where she served as Club Trip Coordinator. She was a past member and former President of the Wives' Club at the Piqua YWCA. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens Center of the Piqua YMCA and also a member of the Piqua Salvation Army Senior Club. Kate retired from Enpo Cornell Pump Co. in Piqua, where she had worked for 10 years as an assembler. She had also worked at Roger Drum Co. in Covington, Ohio, for several years. She also worked for Murphy's 5 and 10 store and Col. Sanders Chick House in Piqua.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua, Ohio. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua, Ohio. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
