Lester Holthaus (1918 - 2017)

FORT LORAMIE — Lester Joseph Holthaus, age 98, of Fort Loramie, died at 10:10 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Heritage Center, Minster.

He was born on Nov. 12, 1918, in Fort Loramie, Ohio, to the late Bernard and Caroline (Prenger) Holthaus.

He is survived by a sister, Catherine Holthaus, Fort Loramie, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Alfred, Marcellus, Victor, Bernard and Anthony, and sister, Rita Holthaus, in-laws, Mary Holthaus, Ruth Holthaus, Mary Holthaus and Roseann Holthaus.

Lester was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie and the St. Joseph Men's Sodality. He retired from Copeland and was a lifelong farmer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, with the Rev. Steven Shoup celebrant. Burial will take place at St. Michael Cemetery.

Friends may call at The Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster, from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 23 and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24. I
