SIDNEY — Louis Warren "Bud" Littlejohn, 89, of Sidney, passed away Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at 10 a.m. at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born on Jan. 8, 1927, in Pemberton, Ohio, the son of the late Dwight and Ruth (Davidson) Littlejohn.

On Feb. 12, 1948, he married Mary Catherine Swiger, who survives him along with six children, Melanie (Joseph) Eshman, of New Carlisle, Indiana, Michael (Marilyn) Littlejohn, of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, Gail (Craig Zimmerman) Layman and Timothy (Deedy) Littlejohn, both of Sidney, Terri (Alan Kleeberger) Littlejohn of Rochester, Minnesota, and David (Michelle) Littlejohn, of Piqua; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild; one sister, Marigrace (Michael) Lang, of Wills Point, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Bud was preceded in death by one grandson, Doug Littlejohn; one sister, Jean (Carl) Silvers; one sister-in-law, Hannah Swiger (Willis) Taylor; and three brothers-in-law, Raymond (Virginia) Swiger, Wilbert (Esther) Swiger and Willis (Ava) Swiger.

Mr. Littlejohn was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1945-46 as a Seaman 1st Class on USS Emery Destroyer Escort. He worked as a a dairy farmer until 1966 and as a union carpenter for 30 years, retiring in 1987. He was a partner in the former J&L Rod&Gun. Bud spent 30 years hunting in Wyoming. He loved camping, fishing, travel and snowmobiling. He was a Farmall collector, an avid trapshooter, enjoyed basketball, playing cards and was a dedicated Reds and Bengals fan. Above all he was devoted to and loved his family.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., with the Rev. Philip K. Chilcote officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Point Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made to Wilson Hospice Care, or a Charity of Donor's Choice.
