Luther Pugalee

TROY — Luther Daniel Pugalee, age 92, of Troy, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at the Koester Pavilion, Troy.

He was born on Sept. 15, 1921, in Princeton, West Virginia, to the late Frank and Anne (O'Dell) Pugalee. Luther was married to Thelma (Hume) Pugalee and she preceded him in death in 2006.

Luther is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Lolita and Robert Zeller, of Troy, Kathleen and Ed Neves, of Piqua, Sandy and Mike Reier, of Sidney, Linda Stafford, of Troy, Jean Todd, of Sidney, Carol and Mark Hennessey, of Troy, Diane and Bill Sherman, of Troy, and Tina and James Riddle, of Troy; sisters, Peggy Howerton, of Lamar, West Virgnia, and Vic Adams, of Princeton, West Virginia; half sisters: Mary Jo Laftery, of South Carolina, and Jacklyn Martin, of Peterstown, West Virginia; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Luther was preceded in death by his two sons, Daniel and Steven Pugalee; sisters, Zelphi Jenkins and Margaret Milam; brother, Louie Pugalee and grandson, Lonnie Pugalee.

Luther was World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was retired from General Motors, Inland Division in Vandalia. He enjoyed fishing and playing the lottery.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio, with the Pastor Phyllis Doseck officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Troy, with Veterans Honor Guard services at the graveside.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
