BELLEFONTAINE — Martha E. Harshbarger, 81, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 6:15 a.m., Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, in the Green Hills Care Center in West Liberty.

She was born in DeGraff, Sept. 11, 1934, to the late Clyde and Anne (Blado) Marsh.

On June 24, 1950, Martha married Richard "Dick" Harshbarger in Indiana, and he survives along with their daughter, Deb Harshbarger, of Lakeview; four sons, Dale Harshbarger, of Huntsville, Jack (Dee Dee) Harshbarger, of DeGraff, Mark (Teresa) Harshbarger, of DeGraff, and Chris Harshbarger, of Bellefontaine; 10 grandchildren, Courtney (Lee) Reinhard, Jacob (Nicole) Harshbarger, Molly Harshbarger, Hank Harshbarger, Tara (Mike) Miller, Kelsey Harshbarger, Travis Harshbarger, Jalen Harshbarger, Rochelle Harshbarger and Alisha Ruley; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Paige Harshbarger; and two sisters, Ethel Smith and Erma Davis.

Martha retired from the Walmart Pharmacy in Bellefontaine, where she had worked for many years. In earlier years, Martha volunteered as a 4-H adviser, and she and her husband, Dick, operated the Stockyard and Sale Barn in DeGraff. She had served for several years as secretary of the Logan County Fair Board and was a past matron of Constance Chapter No. 78 O.E.S. in DeGraff, member of the Bellefontaine Chapter No. 459 O.E.S., and was past deputy grand matron of District 11. She and Dick enjoyed attending all of the local fairs and festivals, and most especially the sporting events of their grandchildren.

Pastor Bill Halter will officiate a funeral service at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street, DeGraff. Visitation will be Monday, August 22, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home with an Eastern Star service beginning at 7:45 p.m. Burial will be in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff.
