SIDNEY — Martha Hensley, age 70, of Sidney, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday night, April 20, 2016. Surrounded by her loving family, she passed at The Pavilion Nursing Facility in Sidney.

"Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her." - Proverbs 31:28

She was born on Christmas morning, Dec. 25, 1945, in a log cabin located in Verda, Kentucky, to the late Willy and Janie (Hensley) Napier. Martha was married to the love of her life, late husband, Lawrence L. Hensley, on Jan. 21, 1964. He went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 31, 2003. They left their Appalachia home and moved to Sidney, Ohio in late 1964. Together, they raised five children.

Surviving children are Sheila (Victor) Keykens, of Houston, Ohio, Pamela (Greg) Goins, of Sidney, Ohio, Christopher Hensley, of Houston, Ohio, and Melissa (Gregg) Pestke, of Sidney, Ohio. Surviving siblings include Fannie King, Margaret Hughes and Polly Napier, of Thornhill, Tennessee. Grandchildren include, Matthew (Megan) Lawson, Adam Keykens, Sarah (Eric) Thrush, Emma Keykens, Abigail Goins, Devin (Danielle) Brautigam, Landon Sopher, Ashlynn Hensley, Micalah Hensley, Dylan Hensley and Elizabeth Pestke. Great-grandchildren include Isaiah and Lydia Lawson, Jackson Thrush, Noah Brautigam, Amirrah and Atheyia Bolden. She will also be deeply missed by numerous nieces and nephews, and close family friends Robert Ritter and Robin Goff.

She was preceded in death by one son, Lawrence M. Hensley, one granddaughter, Christen Hensley, one grandson Jordan Hensley, one brother, Joe Napier and one sister, Ellen Sheckleford.

Martha was a homemaker who left a legacy to her children and grandchildren, by teaching them about the Lord. She lived and displayed a strong faith in God, and taught her family how to pray and trust in Jesus. She enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing and absolutely loved nature. She enjoyed sitting around a campfire, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows, and teaching her grandchildren how to howl like the coyotes. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 25, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney, with the Rev. Mark Hina officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
