JACKSON CENTER — Martha L. Shaner, 89, of Jackson Center, passed away at 8:32 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at the Fair Haven Shelby County Home in Sidney.

She was born in Logan County, Ohio on Aug. 27, 1924, to the late Lewis and Louisa (Gross) Metz.

On April 5, 1947, she married Roy A. Shaner and he preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2003. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Rita Maddy; one sister and two brothers.

She is survived by a daughter Marcia (Dan) Burch, of Lewistown; two sons, Rick (Patricia) Shaner, of Alaska, and Tom (Pam) Shaner, of Jackson Center; a son-in-law Tom Maddy, of Sidney; nine grandchildren; two stepgranddaughters; 12 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat grandchildren; one great-grea-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Martha was a seamstress and member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra.

Pastor Shannon Vogelezang will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra. Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 214 W. Pike St., Jackson Center, Ohio. Burial will be in Emanuel Cemetery in Montra.
