MARIA STEIN — Mary Ann Wenning, age 88, of Maria Stein, Ohio, died at 8:25 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, at Elmwood Assisted Living Center.

Seh was born on Oct. 22, 1926, in McCArtyville, Ohio, to the late August and Elizabeth (Tuente) Riethman. She was married to Ralph A. Wenning on Aug. 9, 1947, in McCartyville, Ohio. He preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 1997.

She is survived by children, Richard Wenning, Maria Stein, Nick and Kathy Wenning, Mauldin, South Carolina, Dan Wenning, Minster, Samuel Wenning, Dallas, Texas, Nancy and Craig Burkhart, St. Marys, and Debora Shrock, Coldwater; in-laws, Regina Jenkins, Fountain Hills, Arizona, and Vernon Bergman, Celina; 19 grandchildren and one stepgrandchild; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Norbert Riethman, Covington, Linus and Mary Riethman, St. Marys, Homer Riethman, McCartyvile, and Helen Westerbeck, Sidney; and sister-in-law, Judy Riethman, Anna.

She was preceded in death by son David Wenning, daughter Donna Bergman and daughter-in-law Pam Wenning, sister Bernie Schulze aand brother Aoys Riethman.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein. She was also a member of the Knights of St. John Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary. She retired from Huffy, Celina.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein, Ohio, with the Rev. Tom Brenberger celebrant. Burial will take place in St. John Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015.
