SIDNEY — Nancy J. Wiford, 79, of 510 Hall Ave., Sidney, passed away Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at 2:15 p.m. at The Pavilion.
She was born on Sept. 5, 1934, in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Walter and Mildred (Small) Cotterman.
On March 7, 1953, she married Lloyd D. Wiford who survives along with five children, Rodney Wiford, of Sidney, Belinda Sue (Frank) Smith, of Plattsburgh, New York, John Wiford and Barb Steenrod, of Sidney, Sherry Carter, of Sidney, and Melissa Kay Wiford, of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren, Kelly Hicks and Todd West, Krysta (Andy) Beekman, Brandon (Randi) Wiford, Ryan (Valerie) Smith, Jennifer Smith, Shea Wiford, Tasha (Brad) Wilson, Bailey Carter and Matthew Smith (deceased); 11 great-grandchildren, Vincent, Dylan, Nickalas, Kayne, Karyss, Kendell, Olivia, Alexandria, Neveah, Evan and Grayden; and surviving siblings and in-laws, Larry ("Jimmy" Cotterman) Wiford, of Sidney, Robert Wiford, of Rialto, California, Daniel (Phylliss) Wiford, of Casstown, Paul (Barb) Wiford, of Centerville, Samuel (Judy) Wiford, of Tecumseh, Wisconsin, Gilbert (Sandra) Wiford, of Summerville, South Carolina, Stephen (Linda) Wiford, of Sidney, Doris Dressman, of Pheonix, Arizona, Nina Cotterman, of Sidney, and Harry Sweigart, of Sidney; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by six siblings, Ruth Wagner, Walter Cotterman, Mary Sweigart, Tom Cotterman, Dora Barga and Helen Smedley, four brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law.
Mrs. Wiford was a Sidney High School graduate, and a member of the Pasco United Methodist Church.
Nancy was a loving homemaker for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Pasco United Methodist Church, 17483 State Route 706, Sidney, with Pastor David Brisker officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens in Sidney.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney, and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to Pasco United Methodist Church in memory of Nancy J. Wiford.
