Patricia L. Maxwell

SIDNEY - Patricia L. Maxwell, 81, of Sidney, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, at 5:50 p.m. at the Dorothy Love Retirement Community.
She was born on July 17, 1931, in Anna, the daughter of the late Karl W. and Glaydes May (Woodruff) Young. On March 28, 1954, she married Richard G. Maxwell, who preceded her in death Nov. 3, 1999.
She is survived by one brother, Paul E. Young and wife, Carol, of Sidney; a son-in-law, William "Bill" Anthony, of Piqua; a sister-in-law, June Young, of Sidney; three grandchildren, Amanda Fischer and husband, John, Joe Anthony and wife, Lisa, and Tom Anthony; five great-grandchildren, Renee and Hope Anthony, and Kaitlyn, Sam and Emma Fischer; numerous nieces and nephews; and very close family friend, Dixie Dancy and her husband, Herman McBride, of Jackson Center. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sue Anthony; one sister, Phyllis Young; and one brother, Richard J. Young.
Mrs. Maxwell worked for the Sidney City Schools as a cook for Emerson Elementary School, and also worked part time at NAPA in Sidney. She was a member of the former Port Jefferson United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney, with the Rev. Ernie Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and Alzheimer's Association in memory of Patricia L. Maxwell.
