VERSAILLES — Paul Stephen Francis, age 85, of McGreevey Road, Versailles, passed away of natural causes Sunday morning, Dec. 6, 2015, at the Versailles Health Care Center in Versailles, Ohio.

He was born March 10, 1930, in Versailles, Ohio, to the late Vincent and Stella (Paulus) Francis. On Feb. 14, 1953, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles, Paul married Patricia Ann (Grogean) Francis who survives.

Also surviving are five sons, Stephen and Mary Ann Francis, of Versailles, John and Sharon Francis, of Russia, Denis and Judy Francis, of Versailles, Gregory and Donna Francis, of Versailles, and Michael and Kimberly Francis, of North Star; 14 grandchildren, Jennifer (Tyler) Ward, Julia (Michael) Birt, Jacqueline Francis, Rachel and Ryan Francis, Sarah (Paul) Fullenkamp, Brian (Haley) and Jason Francis, Andrew (Katie), Benjamin (Krystal), Carrie, and Adam (Kathryn) Francis, Cynthia (Benjamin) Hill and Daniel (Kimberly) Francis; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Helen and Mary Grogean, both of Versailles.

He was preceded in death by a stepmother, Wilma (Paulus) Francis; three infant sons, Dale, Kenneth and Philip Francis, and two brothers-in-law, James and Robert Grogean.

Paul was a 1948 graduate of Versailles High School. He then served in the National Guard during the Korean War. Mr. Francis retired in 1991 from dairy farming. Years ago he had also been a service manager at the former Elson Ford dealership for 25 years.

Paul attended St. Remy Catholic Church and was active in St. Denis Knights of Columbus. He had also been a member of the Versailles American Legion Post 435 and the Dodge Brothers Club. Over the years, Paul enjoyed restoring several antique tractors as well as his "pride & joy" a 1917 Dodge Automobile.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, at St. Remy Church in Russia with the Rev. Martin Fox presiding. Interment will follow at St. Valbert Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 3 to 8 p.m. and Thursday 9 to 9:45 a.m. at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
