Paul Hutchins

SIDNEY — Paul Edward Hutchins, age, 86, of Sidney, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2016, at Dorothy Lover Retirement Community in Sidney.

He was born in Vernon, Ohio, on March 17, 1930, to the late O. T. and Evelyn (Stites) Hutchins. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Jane (Martin) Hutchins.

Paul is also survived by three daughters, Brenda (Dan) Manger, of Cincinnati, and Roberta (Bill) Ruck and Paula (Bill) Moloney, both of Beavercreek; one sister, Esther Bruce of Hubbard, Ohio; and six grandchildren, Ian and Derek Manger, Will and Stuart Ruck and Patrick and Colleen Moloney.

Paul proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1954-56. He was stationed in Germany. Paul graduated from The Ohio State University in 1960 with a degree in Agricultural Education. He was employed with Dayton Power and Light for 27 years as a Farm Service representative.

Paul was very active in the community. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 73 in Sidney and the American Legion Post 217, where he performed with the Singing Soldiers. Paul was also involved with Habitat for Humanity, served as an adviser for the Watt Knotts 4-H club, was a mentor for the HOST reading program at Longfellow Elementary and an active member of First United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, at Adams Funeral Home in Sidney with the Rev. Jane Madden officiating. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held during the service on Friday.
