Ralph Enneking

NEW BREMEN — Ralph J. Enneking, age 77, of New Bremen, Ohio, died on Sunday, May 25, 2014, at 10:29 p.m. at his residence.

He was born on March 2, 1937, in Minster, Ohio, the son of the late John and Edna (Schmiesing) Enneking. On Sept. 17, 1960, he married Doris Meiring who survives in New Bremen, Ohio.

Also surviving are their children Brenda and Richard Winner, of Maria Stein, Ohio, Cynthia and Charles Weyant, of Greenville, Ohio, Charles Perkins, of New Bremen, Ohio; his grandchildren, Latisha and Kevin Dakin, of Phoenix, Arizona, Ryan and Rachael Winner, of Columbus, Ohio, Richard Winner and Tami Post, of Maria Stein, Ohio, Chelsea Winner, of Maria Stein, Ohio, Kassondra Weyant, of Greenville, Ohio; his great-grandchildren, Oakley Dakin and Julian Winner; his siblings, Mildred and Al Borchers, of Minster, Ohio, Dorothy and John Rollegan, of Mississippi, Evelyn Hogankamp, of Dayton, Ohio, Thelma and James Helmig, of Dayton, Ohio, Ted and Barb Enneking of Minster, Ohio, Kenneth and Kathy Enneking, of Dayton, Ohio, and Mark and Linda Enneking of McCartyville, Ohio.

Mr. Enneking was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen. He was active in the church, including serving as an usher for many years. He was an active member of the former New Bremen Lion's Club, the former New Bremen Jay Cee's, the Woodman of the World, the ARC, and was a Boy Scout leader of the New Bremen Troup 95 for many years. In 2001, Ralph retired from working at Goodyear in St. Marys after 32 years. He then went on to work at the ABC Center in New Bremen doing custodial work for another 10 years before retiring again in 2011. Ralph also served in the Army National Guard in the early 1960s.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen, Ohio, with the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.

Calling Hours will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2014, from 2 until 6 p.m. at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, Ohio, and on Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church at which time the rosary will be prayed.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the State of the Heart Hospice.
