TROY — Raymond Adams, 81, of Troy, passed away, Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at Genesis/Troy Care in Troy.

He was born, Dec. 7, 1935, in Magoffin County, Kentucky, to the late Harrison and Altie (Jackson) Adams.

Raymond is survived by two children, Raymond Anthony "Tony" (Mendy) Adams and Lisa Adams, both of Troy; three grandchildren; eight stepdaughters, Charlotte Ruther, of Troy, Margaret West, of Coatsville, Indiana, Vicki West, of Bath, Indiana, Sheila Osborne, Mary Harris and Jerri Waldroop, all of Sidney, Robin Meadows and Pamela Nauert, both of Indianapolis, Indiana; 20 stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank and Carl (Bonnie) Adams, both of Troy; and four sisters, Lora Larck, of Tipp City, Cora Horner and Florence (Dale) Kennedy, both of Troy, and Flora (Eugene) Craft, of West Liberty, Kentucky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on Oct. 29, 2000, by his wife, Phyllis Dawson; five brothers, William "Red," Ernest, Richard, James and Bob Adams; and one sister, Opal Adams.

Raymond retired from Stole Corp (Alcoa) in Sidney. He attended Christiansburg Jackson Schools and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, in the Adams Funeral Home in Sidney with Chaplain Ed Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery in Sidney with full military honors provided by Sidney American Legion Post 217.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
