ANNA — Raymond A. Heitman, age 89, of 10701 State Route 119, Anna, Ohio, died 8:12 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney, Ohio, following a brief illness.

He was born Sept. 18, 1924, in Minster, Ohio, to Albert and Margaret (Zircher) Heitman, they preceeded him in death. He was married April 25,1945, to Betty Hamp. She died Feb. 7, 2011.

He is survived by his children, Pat and Jim Albers, Minster, Vickie and Jack Albers, Celina, Kathy and Keith Coy, Sidney, Becky Dirksen, Greenville, Steve and Teri Heitman, Wapakoneta, Mike and JoAnn Heitman, Anna, Doug and Becky Hietman, Houston, and Tim and Melissa Heitman, Anna; 25 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Roman and Shirley Heitman, Anna; and a sister, Rose and Ken Mills, Dayton.

He was preceded in death by three siblings.

Ray was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in McCartyville, a veteran of World War II and retired from farming and Goodyear Tire in St. Marys in 1987.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at Sacred Heart Church, with the Rev. James Miller, presider. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 until 10 a.m. Thurday at Sacred Heart Church.
