Richard E. "King Bee" Byler

SIDNEY - Richard E. "King Bee" Byler, 73, 720 S. Ohio Ave., Sidney, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013 at 10:43 a.m. at Wilson Memorial Hospital.
He was born on May 8, 1939, in Pemberton, the son of the late Joe A. and Velma H. (Shoppe) Byler. On March 3, 1961, he married Maxine (Fogt) Byler and she survives.
He is also survived by one son, Ben Byler and wife Nina, of Sidney; seven grandchildren, Christine, Ashley, Aubrey, Josten, Ashley, Amy and Rick; three great-grandchildren, Damien, Atlanta and Audrea; one brother, Thomas Byler, of Sidney; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was one brother, Edward Byler and one sister, Joan Thomas.
For many years Richard operated his own auto polishing and detailing business. He was also a bee keeper and had several bee hives in Shelby County where he raised bees and collected the honey. Richard enjoyed talking with his friends on his C.B. radio, with his handle being "King Bee."
He loved spending time with all of his grandchildren and will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney, with the Rev. Jonathan W. Schriber officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco.
Friends may call today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
