BOTKINS — Rick J. Rogers, 62, of Botkins, died 9:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, with his family at his side.

He was born Oct. 20, 1952, in Sidney, the son of James and Dolcie (Martin) Rogers, who preceded him in death. On Oct. 7, 1972, he married Karen A. Kinninger, and she survives. Other survivors include four children, Jason (Angie) Rogers, of Wapakoneta, Heather (Chuck) Buehler, of Botkins, Joshua (Jordan) Rogers, of Botkins, Justin (Sherri) Rogers, of Toledo; grandchildren, Brock, Austin, and Bret Rogers, Paul, Hollie, and C.J. Buehler, Ethan Rogers, Kaiden, Keegan, Kayleigh Rogers; a sister, Charlcie Kaylor, of Eugene, Oregon; mother-in-law, Betty Kinninger, of Wapakoneta; sister-in-law, Carol Rogers, of Botkins; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Chuck Rogers.

Rick retired in October 2014 as maintenance coordinator from Cargill, Sidney, where he had worked for 36 years. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post No. 330, Wapakoneta. He was involved in tractor pulling, and worked as crew chief for his three sons' drag racing team. He enjoyed cooking and smoking meats in his own smoke house.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins, the Rev. Patick Sloneker officiating. Burial is to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Botkins.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ohio 501, Wapakoneta. Memorial contributions may be directed to Down Syndrome Association of Greater Toledo or St. Rita's Hospice. Condolences may be expressed at
