SIDNEY — Rita D. King, 72, of Sidney, passed away at 1:24 p.m. Wednesday, Sept, 9, 2015, at her residence.

She was born on Sept. 17, 1942, in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Arthur and Connie (Knox) Aikin. On July 30, 1960, Rita married John King and he preceded her in death on June 1, 2011.

Rita is survived by her three children, Debra (Cathy) King, of Sidney, John (Pencie) King II, of Viera, Florida, and Kimberly King, of Sidney; six grandchildren, Brandi (Zach) Zupinger, John King III, Danielle (Mike) Barga, Shelby King, Meghan Kennedy and Alexis Green; five great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Pam (Bill) Meyer, Marla (Tim) Geise and Dirk (Diane) Aikin, all of Sidney.

Mrs. King was employed by Sidney City Schools as a cook for 27 years. She was a member of the Elks Sidney Lodge 786 and when her husband was president they would travel all over the state for the Elks Lodge. Rita also was a member of the Senior Citizens Center in Sidney. She enjoyed playing Bingo, watching her grandchildren play sports, but most of all she loved all of her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

A memorial service honoring Rita will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015s at 11:30 a.m. at Cromes Funeral Home with the Rev. Phil Chilcote officiating. Celebration of Rita's life will be at 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.

Memorials may be made to Wilson Hospice in Rita's name.
