DAYTON — Robert Lee Jones, age 70, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016.

He was born May 3, 1945 in Sidney, Ohio to the late John Paul and Edna Inez Jones.

He graduated from Trotwood Madison High School and went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Navy on the USS Yosemite. He loved to travel and visit the beach, with his favorite destinations being Hawaii and Florida. He loved animals and was a loving and giving father and brother. He loved the Lord and kept the Sabbath holy. Robert will be remembered for his off the wall sense of humor.

He is survived by his children, Brian Jones of Dayton, Brandy Johnson and Bridget (Anthony) Montano, all of Xenia; brother: Doug (Marcia) Jones of Dayton; eight grandchildren; the mother of his children, Barbara Koogler; and his dog, Sadie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, at McColaugh Funeral Home Inc., 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with his brother Doug Jones officiating. He will be interred at the National Cemetery, Dayton at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

His family will greet friends Tuesday from 2 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
