SPRINGFIELD — Roger L. Wolf, age 87, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at the Ohio Masonic Home.

He was born on Dec. 11, 1927, in Springfield, Ohio.

He served in the United States Merchant Marines during World War for 5 years, also in the United States Navy. He graduated from Springfield High School.

He was married to Connie M. Zimmerman in 1951 and she passed away in 2004.

He is survived by two children, R. Dudley (Carol) Wolf, of Dayton, and Amy Marie Wolf, of Springfield; five grandchildren; his second wife, Vonda Wolf; her daughter, Jeri (Ron) Ike, of Sidney; and three stepgrandchildren.

He was a member of Plumber and Pipefitter's Local 97 and 162; Plumbing Inspector for Clark County from 1962-1966; Apprentice Instructor Local 97 for 8 years. He was a member at St. Andrew's Lodge 619; Springfield Chapter 48; Scottish Rite of Dayton; and First Families of Clark County, Ohio;

He was a past member of the Alzheimer's Board of Directors. He was a western style square dancer for many years. He retired from the State of Ohio as a National Board Commissioned Boiler Inspector. He also retired several years later from the Travelers Insurance Company as a Loss Control Engineer.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Funeral Home, Springfield, with a visitation held one hour prior. Burial at Ferncliff Cemetery.
