Ronald Everett

SIDNEY — Ronald Eugene Everett, 76, of Sidney, passed away at 10:01 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Kettering Medical Center.

He was born on May 10, 1940, the son of the late Herman and Esta (Maxson) Everett.

On June 25, 1960, he married Patricia Strayer, who survives him along with two sons, Tim (Jackie) Everett, of Sidney, and Jon (Joanie) Everett, of Conover, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Heidi (Mike) Kindle of Mulberry, Florida, Tyler (Stephanie) Everett, Trey Everett, both of Sidney, Emily Everett and fiancé, Meshach of Medina, Ohio, Joe Everett and fiancé, Casey of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Morgan Fair and fiancé, Ryan of Luna Pier, Michigan, and Rachel Fischbach of Grove City, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, Connor and Caden Kindle, and Landon and Nolan Everett; one brother, Ray (Carole) Everett, and one sister-in-law, Alice Everett, both of Sidney.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Dale Everett.

Ronald was a graduate of Fairlawn High School, class of 1958. He was a farmer all his life. Throughout his career he was always supportive of the latest in farming technologies. After his retirement, he loved continuing to help his sons and grandsons with planting and harvesting. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, Stokes Lodge 305 in Port Jefferson, and a member of the Greenview United Church of Christ. Ron loved life and was an avid sports fan. His greatest joy was watching his grandchildren participate in various sporting events and activities. He enjoyed visiting with other farmers over coffee at B&B Fertilizer and meeting up with friends at card club.

Throughout their lives, Pat and Ron enjoyed traveling The States, and spending winters in Florida, where he could spend time fishing and visiting with local caladium farmers. Belize was also one of his favorite places to visit. Ron also had a passion for growing apples and sharing them with his family and friends, who will miss him dearly, along with his faithful dog, Bud. In a final act of kindness and generosity, Ron donated himself to Community Tissue Services to help others.

A memorial service will be held Friday, June 3, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney, with Pastor John Leighty and Pastor Larry Grunden officiating. Burial will be Cedar Point Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
