Rose Wolaver

SIDNEY — Rose Marie Wolaver, 70, of Sidney, passed away at 1:10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at Heartland of Piqua.

She was born on Dec. 12, 1945, in Piqua, Ohio, the daughter of the late Luther and IO (Nicodemus) VanDeGrift. On June 8, 1970, she married Henry Wolaver, whom preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 2016.

Rose is survived by her two daughters, Karen (John) Clack, of Sidney, and Diane (Mark) Simpson, of Tennessee; five grandchildren, Charity (Adam) Ellis, Marcus (Lacie) Simpson, Tequila (William) Ellis, John (Megan) Clack Jr. and Kristeenu (Tyson) Clack; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; five sisters, Florence Cummings, of Florissant, Missouri, Lorena Richards, of Covington, Oleita VanDeGrift, of Sidney, Violet Whalen, of Sidney, and Linda (Ernie) Lease, of Mount Summit, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Shreves, and five siblings, Alice Midlem, Shirley, Rolla, Leo and Verl VanDeGrift.

Mrs. Wolaver was a homemaker and enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing and playing cards. She was a member of Sidney Apostolic Temple and was the past Sunday School superintendent and teacher. Most of all she loved her grandchildren and family and enjoyed spending time and making memories with them.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, at Sidney Apostolic Temple 210 S. Pomeroy Ave., Sidney with Pastor Mark Hina officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens in Sidney.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the in memory of Rose Wolaver.
