HOUSTON - Samuel E. Waldroop III, "Bub" or often referred to as "Lil Sam," 30, of Hughes Road, Houston, passed away of natural causes Sunday morning, July 21, 2013.
He is survived by his wife of six years, Mary Waldroop; his father and mother, Samuel E. Waldroop Jr., and Gerri D. (Estes) Waldroop; one sister, Brittany Waldroop; his nieces, Brylynn Poling and Harleigh Waldroop. Sam is also survived by his paternal grandmother, "Mamaw" Kathleen Waldroop, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Many loved ones are scattered about the United States in the form of friends and concert tour families. Also, he is survived by his special little buddy, Landyn Berry. His three best companions were four-legged friends who answered to Fiend, Jude and Marley.
Bub was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson and friend to many.
Bub was preceded in death by his namesake and paternal grandfather, "Papaw" Samuel E. Waldroop, of Valley Creek, Tenn.; maternal grandmother, "Mawmaw" Phyllis Adams, of Stearns, Ky.; cousins, Ronnie L. Waldroop Jr., Jamie A. West, and stillborn cousin Markus Simonds. He will be sorely missed.
Bub worked as an asphalt sealer for a Sidney company. He was interested in all types of music and art forms, especially the carefree and light-hearted genres. Bub was known for his tie dyed T-shirts and patchwork gear. He appreciated the Peace, Love and Freedom movement and concert scene. The outdoors held a special place in his heart. Bub loved botany, gardening and nature. He was especially astute in current events and the "Truth Movement."
Funeral arrangements are pending and are being handled by Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney.
The non-conventional memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced in the Sidney Daily News. You will also be able to gain information on Facebook under member name; (glowstick inthe woods) to join the service that will be held in his honor.
