WORTHINGTON — Selida Emogene Holley Quick, known as "Jeanne" to family and friends alike, passed from this life to life eternal with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, while residing at Highbanks Care Center in Worthington, Ohio. She passed away from kidney failure.

Jeanne was born to Mary Esther Long Holley and Thomas Cleveland Holley on Sept. 18, 1936, in Lithonia, Georgia. She was the youngest of nine children.

Jeanne met John Edward Quick while attending Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennessee; they married on Aug. 16, 1957, and shortly thereafter moved to Chicago, Illinois, so John could attend Northern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jeanne lived a full life as a pastor's wife and lived in Illinois and Iowa before settling down in Sidney, Ohio, in 1981, where she lived until 2015 when she had to move for health reasons.

Jeanne worked for many years at Emerson Electric (formerly Copeland) as an administrative assistant. She loved music and often played the piano and sang at church; she was also a member of many choirs over the years. She also loved to travel, especially later in life. Visiting Europe and the state of Wyoming were favorites of hers.

Jeanne loved her family, especially her children, Rob and Deborah. Later in life, she lived with her daughter Deborah with whom she was especially close. She was also close to her niece, Betty Ann Glazener, and her southern family. She was thrilled to become a grandmother in 1985 and a great-grandmother in 2015.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Elaine Quick, of Sidney, Ohio; her son, Robert G. E. Quick (Sara), of Delaware, Ohio; her granddaughters, Emily Stricklin (Brian), of Marysville, Ohio, Anna Whitney (Chris), of Lima, Ohio, and Laura Hobbs (Justin), of Glendale, California; and her great-grandson, Jackson Hobbs, of Glendale, California.

Jeanne was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sidney where funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. George Gnade officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney.

Friends may call Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the First Baptist Church 309 E. North St., Sidney, OH 45365.
