NEW BREMEN — Steven H. Kremer, 58, of New Bremen, died on Nov. 20, 2014, at his home.

He was born on July 9, 1956, in Coldwater, to the late Norbert and Edna (Goettemoeller) Kremer. He married Linda E. Kleinhenz on Aug. 13, 1983. She survives in New Bremen. He is also survived by his children: Matthew P. Kremer, of Dublin, Anthony D. and Kimberly A. Kremer, of Hilliard, Jeffrey S. Kremer, of Columbus, Douglas G. Kremer, of Columbus, and Rachel M. Kremer, at home; brothers and sisters: Gerald and Elizabeth Kremer, Marvin and Pamela Kremer, Sharon and Bradley Moore, Ann and Randy Puthoff; Steve's brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Paul and Jane Kleinhenz, Carolyn and Bob Staker, Dan and Joan Kleinhenz, Rose Dues, Jim and Chris Kleinhenz, Mike and Karen Kleinhenz, Ted and Diana Kleinhenz, Janet and Randy Evers, and Judy and John Heitkamp. He was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws, Paul and Irene Kleinhenz.

Steve was known for his good nature and positive attitude. He was a virtuous husband, father and role model. He loved his children and wife and dedicated himself to their happiness and well being. Steve was a devoted member of Christ's body as a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. He never knew a stranger and had a way of putting people at ease with his kindness and genuine concern for others. He supported his children in all their sporting activities and coached their sports with enthusiasm and sensitivity. He loved playing pinochle and spending time with family and friends.

Steve was a fighter and he was able to make it to his son's beautiful wedding last week. He graduated from St. Henry High School in 1974 and from the Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. He was a Cub Scout leader for 10 years; he coached Little League baseball and softball for 15 years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2640, St. Henry.

He retired after 32 years as a construction area engineer from the Ohio Department of Transportation. He was a professional engineer and surveyor and owned and operated Kremer Surveying.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, in the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, New Bremen, with the Rev. Thomas Mannebach, celebrant. Burial will be in German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.

Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater, from 1 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 24, 2014.
