MINSTER — Virginia C. "Ginny" (Buehler) Boerger, age 94, of Minster, Ohio, died at 6:15 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at Elmwood Assisted Living, New Bremen.

She was born on Dec. 1, 1920, in McCartyville, Ohio, to the late Raymond W. and Dorothea C. (Meyer) Buehler. She married Clarence R. "Pete" Boerger on July 3, 1945, at Sacred Heart Church McCartyville. He preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1995.

She is survived by her children, Alan and Janet Boerger, Troy, Ohio, James and Diane Boerger, Westlake, Ohio, Marcia and David Gutridge, Long Boat Key, Florida, Sheila and Jerold Barhorst, Russia, Ohio, Teresa and Mark Poeppelman, Springboro, Gerard "Jake" and Jill Boerger, Coppell, Texas, Kenneth and Andrea Boerger, Maumee, Ohio, and Pamela and Anthony Seger, Liberty Township, Ohio; 16 grandchildren, Stephanie and Chris Coffield, Erika and Scott Daniel, Sarah and Brad Smith, Tricia Boerger and Debi Dorfsman, Kara and Angel Lozada, Todd and April Boerger, Libby and Stuart Carlton, Ryan Barhorst, Dana and Jamie Magoto, Drew Barhorst, Corri and James Hamilton, Allyson Poeppelman, Matt and Beth Poeppelman, Zach Boerger, Justin and Jill Seger and Emilee Seger; two stepgrandchildren, Jennifer and Adam Zochowksi and Joyce and Luther Peters; 18 great-grandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

She is also survived by a brother, John L. Buehler, Dayton; sister, Joan L. and Mark Krabbe, Hamilton; sister-in-law Dorothy Buehler, McCartyville; in-laws Clarrisa Thieman, Minster, Mary Francis, Russia, Ruth Dabbelt, New Bremen and Irene Boerger, Fort Loramie.

She was preceded in death by son-in-law, Keith Rarick, brothers, Raymond Buehler, Orville Buehler., Roman Buehler, Leo Buehler, in-laws Mary Buehler, Alma and Henry Feldman, Leo and Sally Boerger, Albert and Dorothy Wolf, Herb and Alma Boerger, Alfred and Louise Boerger, Catherine Boerger, Ralph and Eileen Boerger, Juliana and Russ Wagner, Roger Thieman, Robert and Caroline Boerger, Frank Boerger, Leo Francis and Martin Dabbelt.

She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church where she was a lector. She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary Minster Post 387, Ohio Retired Teachers Association, Auglaize County Retired Teachers Association and Notre Dame Tabernacle Society. She was a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia Unit 211, Precious Blood Companions, Homebound Ministry, Minster Athletic Boosters, Minster Academic Boosters, Minster Historical Society, Wright State Alumni Association and past secretary Minster High School Scholarship Board. S

he was a 1937 graduate of Minster High School, a 1975 graduate of Wright State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education, and a 1979 graduate of Wright State University with a Masters in Education. She was a teacher at Minster Local Schools.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. Burial will take place following the service at St. Augustine Cemetery, Minster.

Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015.

Memorial donations may be made to the Clarence and Virginia Boerger Family Scholarship Fund through the Minster High School Scholarship Fund.
