Virginia R. "Ginny" Forthofer

RUSSIA -Virginia R. Ginny" Forthofer, 90 of Russia, died at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster.
She was born April 24, 1922, in Newport, to the late John and Mary (Moorman) Perin. She married Lawrence F. Forthofer on April 24, 1946, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Newport. He preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 2000.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Peg and Dan Ranly, of Minster; grandchildren, Kim and Pat McGinnis, of Toledo, Keith and Janel Ranly, of Sidney and Krista and Scott Paulowski, of Marysville; great-grandchildren, Maddie, Shawn and Alyssa; brothers and sisters, Eileen and Ralph Boerger, of New Bremen, Rosalie DeLoye, of Newport and the Rev. Glen Perin, of West Milton; in-laws Esther Perin, of New Bremen and Vee Presas, Fort Loramie.
She was preceded in death by brothers Carl Perin, Mike Perin and Paul Perin, brother-in-laws, Bob DeLoye and Art Presas.
She was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia, the Ladies Sodality of the Church, Fourth degree of the Knights of Columbus, Auxillary. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, tending flowers, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren. She was the owner/operator of Forthofer IGA in Russia, with her husband.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at St. Remy Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Amberger celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Remy Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Russia, from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 21, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, April 22.
