PIQUA — James L. McClelland, 69, of Piqua, died at 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 7, 1944, in Piqua, to Rose (Rittenhouse) McClelland of Piqua and the late Ellsworth McClelland. He married Sharon May Huffman July 11, 1964, in Piqua; she preceded him in death Sept. 27, 2011.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sons, Jeffrey (Cecilia) McClelland, Brian (Julie) McClelland, Glen A. (Ann) McClelland, all of Piqua; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Courtney McClelland.
Mr. McClelland was a 1962 graduate of Piqua Central High School and retired in 2008 as a Welder from Hobart Corp./ITW Plant 27 of Troy. He was a United States Air Force veteran having served during Vietnam and was a member of the American Legion Post 184.
A service to honor his life will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home, Piqua, with the Rev. Dale Christian officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington where full military honors will be provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
