QUINCY — Martha Louise Schweitzer, 85, of 1233 County Road 4, Quincy, passed away at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born on Oct. 15, 1928, in Shelby County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Andrew and Louise (Schneider) Ott.
On Oct. 29, 1947, she was married to Charles Schweitzer, who survives along with six children, William (Judith) Schweitzer, of Buckhamdam, Texas, Norma (Bruce) Terry, of Sidney, David Schweitzer, of Quincy, Virgil Schweitzer, of Taylor, Texas, Stephen (Judy) Schweitzer, of Pemberton, and Joyce (Lawrence) Day Jr., of Maplewood; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, and two sisters; JoAnn Ludwig and Dolly Wilson, both of Botkins.
Martha was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Korn, and three siblings, Marie Long, James Ott and Leo "Sonny" Ott.
Mrs. Schweitzer was a retiree of the Copeland Corp. When she was younger, Martha enjoyed outdoor activities, like fishing and hunting with her family. She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and most of all spending time with her loved ones.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney.
