PORT JEFFERSON — Henry Fitchpatrick, 79, of 310 Canal St, Port Jefferson, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at 1:13 a.m. at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on Aug. 20, 1934, in Nolan, W. Va., the son of the late Willie and Blanche (Vanhoose) Fitchpatrick.
Henry first married Erma Muncy on Dec. 19, 1952, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 25, 2003. On Aug. 19, 2006, he married Shirley Williamson, who survives along with four children, James Fitchpatrick and wife, Elaine, of Port Jefferson, Judy Reed and husband, Steve, of Maplewood, Theresa Estepp and husband, John, and Tom Fitchpatrick, both of Port Jefferson; one brother, Charlie Fitchpatrick, of Maplewood; one sister, Frances Siegal and husband, Ben, of Sidney; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Fitchpatrick, two brothers, Abe and William Fitchpatrick, and one sister, Marie Fitchpatrick.
Mr. Fitchpatrick retired from the Stolle Corp. as a hoist operator after 43 years of service. He was a member of Full Gospel Community Church for more than 43 years. He loved his grandchildren, gardening, and giving away his tomato plants.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Full Gospel Community Church, 950 Childrens Home Road, Sidney, with the Rev. Jeff Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church.
Arrangements are in the care of Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney.
