SIDNEY — Charles Donie Herring, age 86, of Sidney, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 10, 1927, in Logan County, Ohio, to the late Corey "Donie" Herring and Minnie Maple Stewart Herring.
Charles is survived by his children, Charles Herring, Don and Tammy Herring, all of Sidney, Vicki and Kenneth Albers, of Anna; one sister, Helen Klopfenstein, of Bellefontaine; six grandchildren, Justin and Kendra (Albers) Harmon, Dan Corey Herring, Chris Herring, Amy (Herring) and Eric Reffner, Charlie Herring; and eight great-grandchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by eight sisters and one grandson, Kenneth Albers, Jr.
Charles had retired from Monarch Machine. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge of Sidney and loved to work on cars in his spare time. He was of the Protestant Faith.
Charles was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, and brother, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at noon at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney. Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson.
Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at the funeral home.
