SIDNEY — Thelma Elizabeth Thompson, 78, of 816 Michigan St., passed away at 11:59 a.m., Friday, April 11, 2014, at her residence.
She was born on Feb. 26, 1936, in Swanders, the daughter of the late Silas William and Eva Amelia (Metz) Hulsmeyer. Thelma is survived by her three children, Chuck Thompson, Joseph Thompson and Sherri Martens, all three of Sidney; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five siblings, Bob (Joanna) Hulsmeyer, of Florida, Betty (Chuck) Cartwright, of Michigan, Tom (Carol) Hulsmeyer, of Sidney, Marty (Don) Shatto, of Sidney, Donna (Jim) Cowperwaite, of Cincinnati; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Eva Arnett, and two brothers, Lester and Bill Hulsmeyer.
Mrs. Thompson was retired from the former Emergency Management Services of Shelby County, where she served as the disaster relief director. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., with the Rev. James Oates officiating. Burial will be at Pearl Cemetery in Swanders.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
